Purpose
To ensure the safe, respectful, and responsible use of the VI Field Archery Federation’s archery range by all members, while protecting shared equipment and maintaining the quality of the facility for everyone.
Access & Eligibility

Use of the range is restricted to current and authorized members of the Federation.

All users must have signed a liability waiver and be familiar with basic range safety rules.

Youth (under 18) must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or instructor unless given prior written permission.
Range Hours

The range availability is stated in the calendar on the Sports Member application.

Use outside of designated hours is only permitted once authorized by the Federation.
Use of the Field

Use only designated lanes and shooting areas.
-
Please seek permission to move targets or equipment beyond marked zones.

Personal targets may be used with prior approval, and ensure the field stays intact.

Always walk when retrieving arrows on the range.

Respect other archers’ space and observe the shooting line at all times.
Target Use & Storage

Members may use federation targets during open range times or sanctioned events.

After practicing:

Return all targets to the designated storage area

Ensure targets are:

Stored to protect from the weather
-
Stored so that access to other equipment is available

If targets are damaged, notify a federation officer or range coordinator.

Clean-Up & Maintenance

All members are expected to:

Remove their trash
-
Collect stray arrows, whether theirs or not

Report any broken equipment or hazards
-

If you borrow any gear (bows, arrows, quivers, etc.), return it to its proper storage location immediately after use.
⚠️ Safety Rules (Summary)

Always shoot from the designated shooting line.

Only nock an arrow, pointed downrange, when everyone is safely behind he shooting line.

Follow the range officer or instructor’s directions when present.
-
Do not handle others’ equipment without permission.

Prohibited Behavior

Horseplay, aggressive behavior, or unsafe conduct

Unauthorized guests or non-member use.

Firearms or crossbows
✅ Violation Consequences

First violation: Verbal or written warning
-
Second violation: Temporary suspension of range privileges

Repeated violations: Possible termination of membership at the discretion of the Federation Board
Acknowledgement
All members must sign the Range Usage Policy Agreement form and adhere to these guidelines at all times.
